James Bay Athletic Association and JBAA Clubhouse, 205 Simcoe Street, Victoria, BC, V8V 1K6 – Tel: 250.388.7441. Located at MacDonald Park in James Bay, the JBAA, formed in 1886, is the oldest Canadian sports organization west of Montreal. It offers youth and adults an opportunity for team athletics, and makes available its clubhouse for community and private events.

Established in 1975, the JBCP is a non-profit society (James Bay Health and Community Services Society), with a community elected Board of Directors. It is a community health center which provides Primary Health Care, Family Services as well as diverse Community and Volunteer Services.
James Bay Market Society, 547 Michigan Street, Victoria BC, V8V 1S5 – Tel: 250.381.5323. Founded in 1995, it operates a popular community market (featuring crafts, arts, music, and food) which is open every Saturday 9am to 3 pm from May to October, and is located in a park on the corner of Superior & Menzies Street. It also sponsors other events during the year including: “Dickens Christmas Fair” in December and “Seedy Saturday” in February.

(Established in 1977, the society operates a shared facility [in partnership with the City of Victoria and Greater Victoria School District 61], that offers a variety of leisure, recreation, and education programs, activities and special events of interest to children and their families, as well as adults and seniors.

Established in 1993 as a non-profit society, the JBNA has worked on a variety of projects with volunteers for the purpose of enabling “the community to be actively involved in the preservation, rehabilitation, and planned development of James Bay, so as to preserve and enhance the quality of the environment and life therein.”
